Reprising
the family tradition of celebrating Thanksgiving together, Jennifer,
Susan, and I shared a delicious dinner and a delightful evening. The
menu included a baked brie appetizer, a rich and tasty oyster stew,
roast turkey and stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, candied yams, and
steamed haricots verts. I
made my favorite cottage cheese pie and a batch of fresh cranberry
sauce, and brought several selections of wine. Susan and Jennifer did
the heavy lifting of major prep and cleanup, for which I was very
grateful. We all enjoyed the postprandial games of "Clue" and
"Yahtzee," although as the night's big winners, Susan and Jennifer
seemed particularly pleased at the outcomes. It was a time to remember.
